I tend to be eager to get up and get going when taking part in a plein air event. This is from one very early morning at the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air when I awoke hours before dawn. When I realized I was not going back to sleep I got up and went to paint a view that had caught my eye in the dark days before.
This seafood plant begins work early, and I set up nearby to capture the barely lit buildings and dark trees standing tall against the very early morning sky. There was a just-past full moon shining off the water and the sand at the waters edge. It was magical painting conditions and this is one of those paintings that feels like it painted itself.
