One Schooner, Three Views

I was in Cape Ann for the Cape Ann Plein Air Festival and I found out this ship did tours on Sunday afternoons.  I went to the shore to watch for her and was ready when she sailed through the harbour.  I drew several sketches of the ship in my sketchbook as she made her way out to sea and then I put the most interesting three of them into the painting.

The schooner Thomas E. Lannon is shown here three times, once broadside to us, close in, once heading away from us past the island and once far away heading out to sea.  (There are a few other boats shown too, as it was a busy harbour.)
