On the Rocks

While in Florida for the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air event, I painted on the shore a lot. That part of Florida is more or less just an extensive sandbar, built up over eons. The shore is entirely long, low, flat, sandy beaches. The sand dunes are often the highest point around. I did not expect to find any rocks at all. But on a windy day at the end of a pier in Mexico Beach I saw surf breaking over the rocks of the pier. Despite the threat of rain, I had to paint that!
