can you see the wind

I recently had the great good fortune to be on the water as the Castine to Camden sailing race entered Camden Harbor, as part of the three day Eggemoggin Reach Regatta festivities. 

Twenty-nine classic sailing yachts came billowing into harbour on spinnaker runs, sailing downwind in a moderate breeze.  Watching these immense sails sweep by with only the whoosh of the waves under their bows and the creaking of their rigging.
