Chester Morning Idyll

Chester, NS is a town with a rich sailing history.  In summer the protected harbour is filled with sailboats.   Early in June there were yet few boats so this one red sailboat stood out.   It was framed in an impromptu window between trees and a seaside cottage.  Poppy Balser set up to paint it.

"As I worked away, a young couple stopped to check out what was happening on my easel.  They looked at the painting shaping up, looked at the view, looked at the painting again, looked at me and said "You are painting our boat!"  And then we had a nice chat about where they were from, where they were going and the name of their boat.  Turns out Chester was just the last stop before they began a long voyage.  That is their story, not mine, so I won't share it here, but I wish them smooth winds and a safe voyage. "
