mirrored pools study

These rocky pools spend half the day high and dry as the tide runs out from the Bay of Fundy.  At high tide they fill again. Poppy Balser painted this in the studio after a recent sketching trip at Point Prim.

"I would have enjoyed painting this view from life, but it was just too windy to set up there to paint.  My easel would have blown into the woods in no time.  I took some time to watch the waves play over the rocks and to take some photos, which I have used in making this sketch."

As with all paintings of Point Prim, Poppy will donate 10% of the sale of this painting to the Friends of Point Prim, who maintain the lighthouse and grounds, giving the public access to the shore at this iconic spot.
