gone fishin'

On a recent day on the water, Balser observed a couple fishing in nearby waters. 

"It looked like they were catching flounders, something we used to do when I was a kid, albeit from a canoe, which is considerably tippier than an aluminum skiff."   

"It was a great day to be on the water, whether fishing or painting the fishers.  They were anchored so were in place long enough that I could include them in my painting.  Painting boats with people in them is usually harder than that, as they usually are going somewhere.  It was a treat to paint a boat that was staying put, for the most part."
